Life as it is

"I'm in love with you, and I'm not in the business of denying myself the simple pleasure of saying true things. I'm in love with you, and I know that love is just a shout into the void, and that oblivion is inevitable, and that we're all doomed and that there will come a day when all our labor has been returned to dust, and I know the sun will swallow the only earth we'll ever have, and I am in love with you.” - John Green, The Fault in Our Stars.

Life, is confusing. We spend a quarter of our lives studying and pretty much our whole life working and pushing ourselves to improve and to learn more. But in the end, life is pretty much insubstantial. We all end up 'doomed and returned to dust by the sun' and that is pretty much it. All the work and love and moments are just 'returned to dust'.

So never ever regret a decision. Reevaluate, recover, done. Move on. But regarding about what and who I love in this short life of mine, know that there is no such thing as moving on. Never give up on your dreams even if everyone else in the world is doubting you.

Went to Singapore for the weekend and it was so amazing. I went on the Electric Run and watched Far East Movement perform, they were incredible! Plus I got to shoot my menswear collection for my brand Apparel After Dark, big thanks to our model Xavier for the amazing shoot!

(Found this beautiful restaurant called EatPlayLove Cafe in Singapore! Delish Thai food btw!)

Wardah Eyeconic Soiree: EyeXpert by Wardah

A few days ago I was fortunate enough to be invited along with other fellow Indonesian bloggers to Wardah's Eyeconic Soiree, a follow-up dinner to the launch they had earlier in the day for their newest product, The EyeXpert series: Staylast liquid and gel eyeliner.

Now I'm no beauty blogger, but I know what I like in regards to make up and at the very least I know how to do my own make up as well. So right after we were introduced to all the positive perks of these new liners (Soy wax blend and soybean oil in the gel, aloe vera in the liner to prevent over exposure from the sun and is an anti-inflammatory product), I get to open up my goody bag and start testing out the liners on the spot.

I've never used gel for a lot of reasons, one of them being that most of the gels I've tried are somehow too dry and never the right consistency. But the moment I swabbed Wardah's EyeXpert gel liner with the brush they included in the bottle to the top of my hand, it was creamy and soft and it was so easy to apply! The eyeliner was definitely one of the easiest liners I have ever worked with; the applicator brush is quite sturdy and it was very very easy to apply to the lids of my eyes without all the mess I usually do with other liners. Did I mention that both of these liners are waterproof?

I am super impressed with the quality of these products and honestly I can't wait to try them out again when I go out next: ) Thank you, Wardah! For more information, you could visit their website here, or you can go ahead and click on to their Instagram account at @wardahbeauty.

Sorry and Hello!

It's been quite a while since I last blogged about something and thus, I would like to say the biggest sorry anyone could ever say to all my readers (if I still have any, that is!) for the 2 months quiet gap here on my blog. Really Sorry! As you all probably know already I've been really busy with my brand, Apparel After Dark. I've been on this incredible journey of just taking breathtaking steps towards a goal I've been trying to reach for forever since last year and it really has been amazing: )

When people ask me what I do, it's still hard for me to say: "Oh, I'm a designer. I have my own brand." It has always been this imaginary dream I've always had since high school and now, surprisingly and I am still in shock; I am now living the occupation of my dreams.

It is not a glamorous life though, let me remind you. Oh, the irony! People always assume Fashion is the most glamorous job one could ever have and to be honest, it isn't. Point is, I am content with my job and I cannot thank everyone enough for all the support so far, especially my family. Without them I wouldn't be here today:') So thank you! I love you guys so much!

I just got back from Australia and I've got to say, its extremely hard to come home from every single trip there. But even though Melbourne is my one and only true love, Jakarta will always be a place I call home: ) Can't wait for my next trip back, though!
